During the last 12 months BedPosts has
- linked up with Be My Guest and attended three roadshows - in Southampton, Harrogate and Glasgow (in the snow).
- published BedPostings, an in-house online magazine featuring Club members telling their background story, recipes and other articles to publicise tourist and non-tourist areas of the UK (and West Virginia, USA, home to our Secretary).
- advertised on Google AdWords
- advertised on Facebook
- continued to offer existing benefits of Book Direct and Save and Customer Reviews to enhance advertisements on www.bedposts.uk

Please consider becoming a Member of the Committee: the officers of the Club should change every few years and all committee positions are up for election. If you don't want to be chair, treasurer or secretary you can be a member without portfolio.
The Committee meets via Skype or Google Hangouts, on a regular basis (approx. an hour at a quiet time of day) to discuss and decide on matters of interest to the members. It is not an onerous task and we need fresh faces and ideas to help Accommodation Providers succeed – without paying commissions! How about giving it a go to help determine the direction of BedPosts?
Current Committee members are in Buxton, Chipping Campden, Princes Risborough and York.
Our Secretary lives in West Virginia with a 6-hour time difference and also holds 4 or 5 other relevant posts in her local community including that of City Clerk, alongside running a 3-room B&B singled handed - so if she can manage the time to be on our Committee, what is your excuse for not giving it a go?
We ought to have representation from more regions of the UK. You have nothing to lose except an hour of your time once or twice a month!
The AGM will be held on Monday 10th May at 3 pm in your study or wherever you have your computer and should take no longer than 60 minutes. Please make the effort to log in (John can send you further details if you've never used Google Hangouts - just ask him: 01628 481711; john@bedposts.org.uk) and maybe even add your twopenn'orth at the AGM too!
The AGM will take place over the Internet using Google Hangouts. To get into the meeting the Club needs advance notice so an invitation can be sent to you. You need to use your free Google account for this (the one you login to for Gmail, Google Analytics, Places for Business, AdWords etc) so send us a note of the email address you use to club@bedposts.org.uk. No software setup is involved. The best browser to use is Google's own Chrome but other browsers should work too.
You'll need the following equipment attached to your computer or device:
- Webcam
- Microphone
- Speakers
If you intend to use your laptop you may find that these are already built in. The webcam and mic are usually situated in the bezel at the top of the laptop screen. This You Tube video explains how to set them up in Windows 10.
You can buy a perfectly good webcam including microphone for around £20 or less. Logitech is a popular inexpensive make.
