Dear Chefs friends,
Here's a photo of the crew of friends and helpers that is making the rounds to assist with everything this time of year. We are excited to bring you some of the best and freshest. Its so much nicer now than it was a few weeks ago and cold hands and jackets have been replaced with shorts and bare feet sometimes.
This week we have all of the same items. Fiddleheads and Japanese knotweed are in peak harvest for one more week!
This upcoming week I will delivery on Thursday afternoon. Please get me your orders by Tuesday evening. Please keep your orders above $35 dollars for the delivery. Thanks!
Japanese Knotweed: $5 a lb. It came up fast and this is the best week
Fiddleheads: $14lb Get them while they are great. They won't last long.
Ramps $14lb: The warm weather last week was really nice for the growing of these babys. They grow up so fast.
Watercress $14lb: coming in nicely now
Garlic Mustard whole plant: $13lb. The whole plant (root and the leaves) harvested together. The root can be used as a horse radish substitute. delivered bunched. This is starting to flower now. We try to get it in bud so it looks like a broccoli raab
Patience Dock: $6lb. Spinach Substitute. Big Leaves (about the size of chard or a little smaller), Creamy when cooked.
Nettles: $11lb. This king of wild foods is just emerging. the price will fall but get these early sprouted beauties for your amazing green (highest plant source of iron)
Bronze Fennel Fronds: $4 oz. This wonderful frilly sprout makes a nice garnish and great for deserts
Day Lily Shoots $15 lb.
