Student accounts are restricted DCMP accounts designed for direct use by your students in the classroom or at home. Each student gets his or her own username and password, allowing them access to media assigned by the main account holder. Each student account can be shared among teachers and parents who have a DCMP account.
To share a student account, go to your Account Dashboard. Click the "Students" button. Then select the student account you wish to share. Click the "Share Student" button. Clicking the "Share Student" button will generate a share code that is and will remain unique to that student. You can print out or email the code to share it with another DCMP member.
If a DCMP member has shared a student account with you, follow the steps above to create a new student account, but instead of entering the student's name, username, and password, follow the link in the text, "You may also add a student using a student share code if you have one." You can then simply enter the student share code that you received from the other DCMP member, and the student's existing account information will automatically be entered.

DCMP members and their students can view accessible television programs and educational videos on iOS devices with the DCMP iOS app. Not only are videos captioned and described, but the app itself is accessible. With DCMP's iOS app, you can:
- Easily log students in to their student accounts on classroom-shared iPads with one simple PIN.
- Create groups, or "classes," of individual student accounts to expedite the assignment of videos.
- Set video permissions for individual students or at the class level with a simple click.
- Share student accounts with teachers and parents who are DCMP members.
- Turn on the high-contrast theme for low-vision students.
- Learn how to easily access all our app features through How-To videos.
- Encourage independent learning through student accounts by granting access to accessible television programs and other educational videos.
In order to use the DCMP app, you will need an iPhone, iPad, or iPod running iOS 8 or later. You'll also need an Internet connection fast enough to support streaming video.
Go to https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/dcmp/id925783199, or open the App Store, click "Search," and type "DCMP." It should be the first result. Our app is free, so simply click the "Get" button to install.
Click the "Open" button in the app store, or click the home button and open the DCMP app from your home screen. Enter your DCMP username and password and click "Sign In." If you don't have a DCMP account, you may click "Continue as Guest" to view the freely available videos we have in the collection. |

Using Accessible Media in the Classroom With Students Who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing is for professionals working with individuals who are deaf and hard of hearing in K-12 educational settings.
Using Accessible Media in the Classroom With Students Who are Blind and Visually Impaired is for professionals working with individuals who are blind or visually impaired in K-12 educational settings.
The courses will explore the benefits of using media in the classroom. They will explain the importance of accessible media for students with sensory impairments as well as students with and without disabilities. You will learn to evaluate the quality of accessibility features and various techniques for utilizing media to enhance classroom instruction.
These classes are three-week, asynchronous, online training. Choose your preferred time during the week to work online and meet weekly deadlines. Expect to spend approximately five hours per week completing the required work. When you successfully complete the class, you will receive a certificate for 15 continuing education credits.
The class is sponsored by the Described and Captioned Media Program, is free of charge, and fully accessible.
- Log in or sign up for a DCMP account.
- Go to your eLearning Dashboard.
- Select a QuickClass from the Opportunities section to register. (If no QuickClasses are listed, either registration is not yet open or the class is full.)

The NFB's DCMP channel includes award-winning videos like The Balgonie Birdman, Chimpanzees Of Uganda, and Lights For Gita.
Grades K-12
This series provides an overview of the important features of key historical periods. Experts discuss ancient historical events to modern occurrences, which helps viewers understand broad patterns of historical change.

We're fully funded by the U.S. Department of Education, so there are no costs associated with any of our services. Family members, school personnel, and other professionals who work with early learners through Grade 12 students with a hearing or vision loss do qualify for membership. DCMP members can:

- Check out videos on DVD (with free return postage), or watch instantly on PC, Roku, tablets, and smartphones. iOS users can use the DCMP iOS app.
