The last two weeks have been busy at the O'Brien Guitars workshop with two more students coming and building guitars with me in private one on one classes. Both of the guitars were OM size with Indian rosewood back and sides, sitka spruce top, mahogany neck, ebony fretboard, bridge and peghead veneer, flame maple bindings and end wedge and Gotho gold tuners. The nut and saddle are bone and the finish is shellac applied using my French polish method. These are the usual materials used by my students to build their guitars in my classes with me. In typical fashion, we started with a box of materials and six days later the guitars were finished. Both students left with new skills, new guitars, bragging rights and fond memories. Congratulations to Steve and Bruce!

Folks often wonder what is actually involved in building a guitar in a week. Well, here is a video with a student from a few years ago showing exactly what we do in the class. Enjoy!
If you are interested in learning to build guitars or just want
to see how I build my guitars then schedule a class with me.
If you are in need of a concert quality classical or steel string
guitar then let me know as I would love to build a guitar for you.

Thank you,
