April News

April has come and almost gone.  We have had a fun time burning off all the Easter goodies.  Now it's time to get serious with our next Challenge - May Madness!!  Join us as we repeat the February Challenge of alcohol and sugar elimination from the diet, as well as taking on our daily exercise goals. Join the facebook Challenge page HERE for more details.
This month read about Brendan. I have been training at his workplace for over 10 years.  Brendan has been there for 6 of those years and recalls his experiences.
We also have a new recipe to try! Marathon runner and foodie Lisa shares her secret Brownie recipe. Guaranteed to give you that sweet hit but with a whole lot of goodness, yum!!
A huge welcome to new client Patrick.  Hope you enjoy your weekly sessions. Also a shout out to run client Jenny who is smashing goals week after week on her road to her first Half Marathon - Gold Coast '18.  I'll be there to cheer her over the finish line.  Can't wait for her race wrap up once it's done.  So proud of each and every one of my clients.  Too many weekly achievements to list - Parkruns, weight loss achievements and more.

XX Manal

Meet Brendan

"It started out with some skipping ropes, witches hats and a jog around Hyde Park. Over the years it transitioned into yoga in the boardroom, timed stair sprints at Mrs Macquarie’s Chair and circuits down at Woolloomooloo wharf. Training with Manal as part of our firm’s weekly lunchtime corporate fitness session has meant the endless supply of dynamic training options.
There isn’t much Manal can’t work into the weekly session. It could be a new way to get closer to a six-pack, the latest office gossip, or a new restaurant at which to dine. Time seems to fly during our fitness hour. Except when Manal says only 30 seconds more – that’s when it feels like an eternity!!
Suggesting to a fellow colleague to join the session is regularly met with apprehension followed by I might need to get my fitness up before I start training. A fallacy if I ever heard one. Over the last six years I have come to learn that no matter your fitness level, age, or injuries Manal will cater the session to all participants.
Even the weeks where stretching is the preferred activity Manal seamlessly transitions from fitness instructor to life coach, ready with all the advice needed.
Like any activity, you only get out what you put in. Manal is a great facilitator for our goals without the stereotypical yelling and screaming of a drill sergeant.
In the last six years, the day of the week we train has changed, as has location, but one thing has remained and that is the big smile on Manal's face every time we see her."

Thank you Brendan! It's been such a fun 6 years training you!!  Bring on the next 6!!! - Manal xx

The Hungry Grasshopper giveaway

Last month our friend's at The Hungry Grasshopper Cafe in Haberfield kindly donated a coffee card to the value of $40 (10 large coffees) to the person who answered 10 questions relating to content in the newsletter. The lucky winner was the first person who replied to the newsletter with all 10 correct answers. The lucky winner was Isabel, who has been buzzing ever since receiving her card!!! Congratulations Izzy, well deserved!!  If you are ever in need of the best coffee and delicious food in the Inner West, you can't go past The Hungry Grasshopper.  Either Brendan or Danielle will be happy to see you.
No Sugar, No alcohol, Daily Exercises

How successful was the February Challenge? It was the best yet!! All participants gained something - whether it was an appreciation of foods without the preservatives and sweeteners, or the discipline of daily exercises, or the support of the online community, or losing the desire for the nightly glass of wine, something worked for everyone.
Now we are doing it again. If you haven't yet it's never too late.  Join the Facebook Page, print off the daily exercise chart pinned to the top of the page and get amongst it. All you have to loose are bad habits and possibly even those stubborn few kilos.  It's easier with a supportive community behind you and it's absolutely FREE!! Do it now and join us as we have another fun month!
