Thanks again for all the responses. It's clear that PechaKucha is due for an imminent revival which is great news. The team is set to be coming together soon to take it on, all they'll need now is a presenter or two. Start thinking about what you could talk about for less than 7 minutes. News
You'll notice at the top of each newsletter we feature different artwork each time. This edition features local artist Oliver Winconek who has informed us that while he's in-between exhibitions he's pleased to confirm that he's currently taking commissions. After all the interest from his Mugshot exhibition in Ely, I know quite a few of you will be glad of the chance. Please do get in touch if you'd like your artwork featured in a future newsletter which can link back to your own homepage.
Neotists news
Some of you may have heard the good news that our very own founding member of Neotists, Richard Slade (yes, him), has become a town councillor for St Neots. This was all pretty fast and a little unexpected (the ward was uncontested so he automatically got in. Politics, eh?) so if you see him and he's looking a little dazed, that'll be why. Excitingly for us, he chose to run as a representative for Neotists. So the creative community here in St Neots now has a voice on the council - just don't ask about anything to do with politics ;)
New album release — One Quarter Dust
Neotist Dave Fleet aka Laica and co-owner of the record label Arrell has just released a new album One Quarter Dust, with artwork by David Coyle. In Dave's own words: “this is my catharsis record. After some difficult times, it took me an age to get my head around making any kind of music, as I saw it as part of the reason for those upheavals.”
New film release — Sexsomnia
Neotist Adrian Storey aka Uchujin has released a new controversial short film about a form of non-rapid eye movement parasomnia that causes people to engage in various sexual acts while they are asleep. Read about the project (and possible watch) here.
New independent shop in town
We're please to say that the new craft beer (and gin) shop in Cross Keys called Shumë is open and it's great to see another independent retailer on our high street (and another soon to follow if you've been observant outside Cross Keys this week). Several Neotists helped out with design and promotional material, including illustrator Cat Goddard and fillmmaker Calum Morrison. The shop is open seven days a week so you have no excuses people.
Love's Farm Great Get Together
After the success of last year's party to celebrate the opening of Station Square another event is being oragnised for Saturday 23 June at Round House School in Love's Farm. The Great Get Together will be a community event with entertainment, stalls and activites. So far they'll be a cricket match, bike maintenance hub, tennis taster sessions, facepainters, bouncy castles, dance, archery, sport and much more. If you'd like to get involved and run something yourself contact Helene Tame.

Open call for artists and performers
The Library Presents are currently planning their autumn season (September to December 2018) which will include a mixture of performances, exhibitions, digital work and participatory workshops. The programme aims to inspire and deliver a vibrant inclusive programme of high quality arts activities into libraries in market towns and villages across Cambridgeshire.

Learn and teach digital skills at Maker Takeover
Collusion's newly named Maker Takeover is now set for May 17 at the excellent new iMet Building in Alconbury. The focus of this is to support the growth of the creatives in our area. Collusion are inviting you to join them on the day. They're hoping as many Neotists (and friends) will go along to showcase any projects you're currently working on or would like to work on such as workshops, events, exhibitions, etc.
The day is split into three parts - a consistent Maker Fair of stalls which you can take part in (please forward to anyone you know would be interested in running a stall), seminars/workshops upstairs thought the day, then an evenings entertainment of mechanical techno with Graham Dunning in the large main room.
