Voices of the Palestinian diaspora: Nakba is an open wound
Al Jazeera News, 8 May 2018
"The Arab-Israeli Six Day War in 1967 and the Yom Kippur War in 1973 brought Palestinians no closer to realising their own dreams for a homeland as Israel's territorial ambitions continue to breach international law. Now, 70 years on since the inception of Israel, Palestinian members of the diaspora remain committed to the struggle for the liberation of Palestine and against Israeli occupation and oppression. Al Jazeera spoke to five expatriate Palestinians with various backgrounds and birthplaces to ascertain their views about 70 years of the Israeli state."

De-colonising the mind - a former Zionist fighter's journey
Al Jazeera News, 9 May 2018
"Today, aged 89, Tikva is physically frail but mentally as sharp as nails, and her zeal and determination remain. Condemned for Gaza shootings, Israel says it is only defending its border from 'parade of terror'

"[A]fter six straight Fridays of Palestinian demonstrations on the Gaza border, Israel is now struggling to convince the world that its response is proportional. Forty-eight Palestinians, including two journalists and at least two teenagers, have been killed in the border clashes and thousands more have been injured, many with bullet wounds to the legs."

Showcasing Palestine Event a MASSIVE Success
The Showcasing Palestine event which took place last Sunday, 6 May 2018, has been classed a massive success. With hundreds of Adelaidians streaming in through the gates of the Migration Museum, Palestine was on full show for all those who came to enjoy the rich culture or to enjoy a slice of home. Dance performances, live music, authentic food, poetry, henna, and a fashion parade were just some of the amazing activities which contributed to making the day such an enjoyable and educational event.
Thank you to the amazing volunteers who helped organise the event, Glimmer of Hope, CAAR, the Migration Museum and of course those who attended the wonderful day. We can't wait to see you again next year!
