We will be taking photos for a new church directory on May 9-May 12. We have some appointments still available each day, if you haven't scheduled an appointment, please contact the church office right away so you don't miss out on having your picture included in the directory.

Volunteers Needed- Picture Directory Days
Hosts/Hostesses needed for our Church Directory photo days of May 9th-12th. Duties include: greeting people, having people check their roster information, filling out photo cards, and calling people who are late. Each volunteer spot is for 2 1/2 hours and training will be provided by the LifeTouch photographers. Sign-up by contacting the church office or online by clicking here.

Church Website Gets Upgrade
This last week, the Goodland UMC website changed some. We have a new look that will hopefully be easier to navigate for members and visitors alike. You can find archives of radio devotions, past e-newsletters, and hopefully sermon videos again, real soon. Our church calendar and staff list are also present. Upcoming events are scrolling on the main page, and our different ministries will be uploading updated information very soon. Check it out today!

Graduate Recognition-- This Sunday
We will recognize our high school graduates this Sunday, May 13th, during worship. Following worship their will be reception in their honor in the Parlor for our church to congratulate them. We hope you will be present to celebrate this occassion with our graduates.
The UMW will also be hosting a brunch for the graduates and their families prior to church that morning.

Parking Lot Work Completed
At the April Church Council meeting, the council approved a bid of $5107.60 to have the church parking lot cracks sealed, whole lot seal coated, and new striping painted. We anticipated the work to be done sometime in the summer, but the company (Western Pavement Solutions) was able to squeeze us in within a couple of weeks. The cost of this project was paid out of the "Building Fund" and has nearly depleted that fund now. If you would like to donate towards this parking lot project, please make send the donations to the church office designated "parking lot". Thank you!

Nursery Workers- Paid Position
The Church Council has approved the opening up of a paid nursery position for Goodland UMC. This is an hourly, contracted position. Primary responsibilities are to watch children aged 3 and younger during worship on Sunday mornings. We anticipate work being from about 10am-11:45am each Sunday, but may be adjusted as we realize that actual needs of parents. Other special events and activities may be negotiated with the person or persons that are hired. One or more people may be hired to fit the needs of the church. Pay is $12/hr. Successful applicants must be over 18 years of age and will need to complete and pass Safe Gatherings training and certification, which includes a background check.
