Spotlight on: Deb Bergeron (Ed Tech in Special Education)

Mrs. Bergeron’s first teaching job was at Oak Hill High School in 1997 in Special Ed. grades 9th and 10th.  After this teaching experience (For rose who know Ms. Bergeron, the overall size of high school kids was not exactly a perfect match!) and she found within herself a goal to help teach the younger children with special needs/special ed at the Elementary level.  Her 1st Ed Tech job was here at Woodside in 1998 in the Functional Life Program. She’s worked at Bowdoin Central and Bowdoinham Schools.  Mrs. B, as she is know to so many started here at Woodside 2010 the 1st ETIP program with Krista Walker, Erica Alt, and Lori Watson. She worked in both the primary and the secondary program for 5 years and have done resource room support the past two years. I have always supported grades K-6.

Mrs. “B” loves being an Ed Tech in Special Ed. because of the rewards we witness through the years and to watch a child grow in social needs, academic needs and/or behaviors and to become their friend and support.

When Mrs. B is not in school she spend as much time with her two Granddaughters age 4 ½ as possible. Mrs. B says proudly, “They are my world and my heart.” Mrs. B’s outdoor passion is gardening once the snow melts, and until it returns!

Please know that Mrs.”B” melts our hearts every day with her special combination of frankness and caring, the ability to hold a firm boundary when needed mixed with ability to “do what is right” for kids no matter what, and for being a dedicated individual who devotes herself to making Woodside a better place to be a kid, or an adult!

Thank you Mrs. B, Woodside is a better place beacuse of you!
Here is our line-up for appreciation this week.  If you can help out in any way we can still use cash donations to help defray the PTO’s costs.  Thank you!  Don’t Forget...encourage your kids to write Heart Shaped notes to their teachers on Wendesday Night to pass out on Thursday Morning!
