Below is a summary of the action taken by the City Council at the meeting on Wednesday, May 2.
  • Approved the issuance of General Obligation Bonds with a favorable AA+ rating for future improvements outlined in the Capital Improvement Plan.
  • Approved an award of the 8th Street and Valley Lane construction project. 
  • Approved a signalization project at the intersection of Division and Gougar Streets.
  • Held a public hearing regarding the annexation agreement between the City and Highland Ridge Apartments (located west of I-355 between Archer and 143rd). 
City Council meetings are held on the first and third Wednesdays of each month at City Hall. Residents are encouraged to attend or watch online.
The City is accepting requests for the Sidewalk Replacement Program through Friday, June 15. For more information about the program requirements and to submit a request, visit the City's website.

The program is 100% funded by the City at no cost to residents. After June 15, the City will inspect and evaluate all requests received, and prioritize sidewalks in need of the greatest repair.
The City was recently awarded with a $1,025,000 grant to make railway safety improvements at three of the City's crossings at 8th, 9th, and 13th Streets. The grant funds will be used to install signals, pedestrian gates, and warning system at no cost to the City. The projects are scheduled to be completed by later this year. Read more...
