That was my first reaction when I scrolled through the many dreams listen on the Borderland webpage this year.
How can this wonderland time after time surpass my wildest expectations?!
My heartbeat rises as I read the dreams that pop into my eyes
There's the return of the Hammock reactor, the majestic chill-out space build with CAD-drawings, Austrian engineering, and the love of hanging around. There’s Phermone Blind Dates for science and romance, and just those of us who secretly like to sniff Borderlings. There’s even Bordershrooms!
The butterflies are flickering in my stomach and my heart aches to be in the quarry again.
I want it all, and I want it now!
But I know the procedure, before the art hits the quarry, it needs to be made, and part of the making, means money. Pesetas, gold, crytos. All the fun and crazy things don’t just manifest themself, they need a reallife push with cash. This is where you come in. Your dream votes decide which projects get realized at the burn! You have to SHOW THEM THE MONEY! -or at least the votes. This is your democratic duty at Borderland.
So find the projects that you are the most excited to bump into this year, and give them that sweet, sweet dreamlove <3
If you have a membership for the Borderland 2018 you can “crowdfund” the dreams you wish to see realised, by giving out 10 Community Grants. You can view those 10 grants as your own share of the Borderland Dream budget. Each grant is worth 140 SEK (value not guaranteed).
To use your grants:
Register your account on the Dream Platform, with the email you used to buy your Borderland membership on BurnerTickets.
Once logged in, browse through the list of dreams.
By clicking on a dream in the list, you’ll see its detail page. If this is a dream you want to support financially, click on the blue Donate to dream button.
Select how many of your 10 grants you’ll give to help that dream getting funded, then submit.
The deadline to spend your 10 grants is Friday May 18th at midnight!

You’re spending the Borderland’s money for dreams here, not you own. So don’t hesitate!
Think wisely before giving out your grants to a dream, because once a grant is spent, it cannot be taken back.
You cannot give more than 7 of your 10 grants to a single dream
The value of 1 grant is set quite high this year - 140 SEK - and if many of us use our 10 grants, we will go beyond the Borderland Dream budget. That’s why we cannot guarantee that the final value of a Community Grant will be 140 SEK. In any case, we want as many participants as possible to give out their grants to the dreams of their dreams!
If you are applying for a Dream Grant:
There is not enough money to fund all dreams this year (even to their minimum, currently). So if on Saturday May 19th your dream is still too far from its minimum budget, it will likely not receive any funding from the Borderland.
At any time, you are free to reduce your dream’s minimum or full budget in your grant application, without having to ask your Dream Guide for permission.
