Shortcuts is scheduled for release in 2019!
I'm pleased to announce that CBAY Books will be publishing Shortcuts as the first book in its new tween line in 2019! The characters have been aged down from freshmen in high school to 8th graders, so it will better fit an upper MG audience. I'm looking forward to getting to share this story with you!

Some of you might remember that my middle grade story, THE WORST VILLAIN EVER was due to come out this summer with Blaze Publishing. Sadly, Blaze closed its doors recently, so I was left without a publisher for this story and it will not be released this summer after all.

Happily, the manuscript is under consideration by a different publisher, and I have high hopes for it to make it out into the world one of these days. I love that story so much! I hope I get to share it with you soon!

Book Review
One of the best books I've read this year has been LOVE THAT DOG, by Sharon Creech. Written as a series of assigned journal entries, each entry is written in verse. It begins:
September 13
I don't want to
because boys
don't write poetry.
Girls do.
Our narrator grows to understand and appreciate poetry throughout the story. It's funny, poignant, and touching, as well as truly educational. FANTASTIC BOOK.

Upcoming events
