Ingenuity Hour

I have been running Ingenuity Hour for the last 8 weeks for one afternoon a week. The children have been looking at developing a project based on what they were interested in. They had to narrow down their ideas from their passions and then follow through and develop an idea. This was not always easy or fun and they had to use their growth mindset and some grit to complete their projects. Tomorrow at Assembly they will share their work. I am proud of their determination and effort.

For Ingenuity Hour I focussed on being a Kid Comedian. I chose to do this because I love seeing smiles and laughter in people.

I have learned how to code a really big game because I have always wanted to create my own game. It was hard to get the ninjas to do what I wanted to them to do but in the end I did. I felt great and I am proud of my game.
I liked Ingenuity Hour because we got to come together and create something new. I decided to write a song because I love singing and I thought it would be amazing to write an original song. My favourite part was spending time doing something I love. My song is called "Reaching for Dreams."

I wanted to try something new and I have never done anything like it before so I decided to give it go. I have learned a lot of coding and how to make a proper game. I watched some tutorials and then I created my own. When I didn't know what to do I played around with the coding and kept trying different ways to do.

Math's Curriculum Review 2018

If we build it, will Peripatus come?

We are very excited to be part of this innovative project.

Primary students from Green Island, St Francis Xavier and Abbotsford School are joining Catchments Otago to take a closer look at the worm that brought the Caversham motorway development to a grinding halt - or more to the point identifying their preferential habitats, and recreating those on their school grounds.

Dear school families,

as you may be aware the St Francis Xavier Primary School App (The Skool Loop App) has had a number of updates in recent days.

This is to ensure your experience of the St Francis Xavier Primary School App is smooth and seamless.

When you next open the school app there is a prompt which asks you to tap on the link to take you to the new and updated version of the Skool Loop app.

Please click on this link and download the new version of the Skool Loop App. Choose our region and school and the app will automatically stay on the St Francis Xavier Primary School app.

Once this has been done please delete the old version of the Skool Loop App off your phone.’
