Événement Forêt de printemps
Bois de Liesse Nature Park
Quelques notes importantes pour notre événement du dimanche au Bois de Liesse. Après nos pluies récentes, le terrain est inondé de nombreuses mares d'eau stagnante. La forêt reste très ouverte avec de nombreuses fleurs éphermales printanières. Le stationnement est disponible pour 9 $ par jour dans le parc ou en nombre limité, mais gratuit, le long de la route menant au parc. Nous avons convenu avec L'Oréal d'utiliser leur stationnement à l'ouest et adjacent à l'entrée du parc pour le stationnement pour la période de notre événement. Spring Forest Event
Bois de Liesse Nature Park
A couple of important notes for our event on Sunday At Bois de Liesse. After our recent rains the terrain is wet with many pools of standing water. The forest remains very open with many spring ephermal flowers coming up. Parking is available for $9/day in the park or limited, but free, along the road leading into the park. We have arranged with L’Oreal to use their parking lot to the west and adjacent to the park entrance for parking for the period of our event. You are invited to our spring forest event in Bois de Liesse Nature Park on May 6. We will be using a new map prepared by Dimitri Golovanov and with our delayed spring it promises to be a great forest event. There will be 4 categories with a beginner course, an intermediate course, and two advanced courses.
Registration will start at 9:30 and the starts will be from 10:00-12:00. The courses will close at 1:30 pm.
Map: 1:10,000 2.5 m contours.
Here are the approximate distances for the different courses:
- Beginner: approximately 2.5 km
- Intermediate: approximately 3.5 km
- Advanced: approximately 4.4 or 6.5 km
Climb is minimal, but if you can find a hill to climb, go for it! Since this is a Nature Park the park rules require us to stay on the trails.
Directions: The event start and finish will be at the Chalet d'accueil des champs, which has a street address of 3555 Rue Douglas B Floreani, Saint-Laurent, QC H4S 1Y6. There is parking at the Chalet in the park or on Rue Douglas B Floreani leading into the park. This entrance is easily accessed from Rue Henri-Bourassa which is close by the intersection of the autoroutes 13 and Transcanadian.
Fees:
Orienteering Meet fees are $12 for adults, $8 for those under 21 (or full-time students). Ramblers 2018 members have no meet fees to pay at Club events for the year.

You can still register on site. The orienteering Ottawa club members will get a reduced price for registration. Volunteers for help with registration, control pickup, and starting will be appreciated.
