When I looked back, I realised that I had not updated you since Christmas, and that's when it hit me. We've been so focused on the young people, that we've forgotten to tell you what's happening.

Since coming back from Christmas our mission has been to engage with more groups and individuals. And wow, has that been happening!

Some of the weekly work we do has obviously been in the programme for a while, but take a moment to cast your eye below.

The main message here is that young people are are moving towards Jesus is greater numbers that ever before.

We have:

  • 55 young people engaging in lunch time activities with us in both secondary schools.
  • 51 young people regularly attending Tuesday night at The Bridge.
  • 27 young people attending our 4 Stir groups.
  • 25 young people are supported by our volunteer student support team in local schools.
  • 4 teenagers attending lesson time 'Romance Academy' in Oldbury Wells School.
  • 4 teenagers attending a brand new table top gaming initiative, in The Bridge.
  • 2 new primary school lunch time clubs.

What does this all mean in practice?

The most important things to keep in mind is that:

  • We're relying more and more on quality volunteers who are being training with us and released in to schools work.
  • With such a massive programme we're now operating clubs after school every day as well as being present in schools in some way every day too.

Monday:

Stir in Highley. (St Mary's Church Highley supported)

Tuesday:

Stir at The Bridge & evening at The Bridge.

Wednesday:

Stir at The Bridge, early and late.

Thursday:

St James Hall Children's club. (St Mary's Church supported by BYSP)

Friday:

Table Top gaming club (Linked with The Bridge and support programme.) & The Bridge with outreach team in the town.

What else has been happening?

  • 304 students attended GSUS LIVE in Oldbury Wells in January.
  • 125 students attended a REFLECT day in William Brookes school in January.
  • 520 students met LEKE in a special REFLECT mission week about what it means to live a life for Jesus.
  • 20 young volunteers were trained and released in to youth volunteering across the Bridgnorth area.
  • John & Jon helped OWS take around 90 students to Arthog in Wales for a week.

What can you pray for?

  • With such a large weekly programme, you'll appreciate that larger mission opportunities will become very difficult to fit in. Please pray for the resilience of the team.

  • The Friday night Bridge programme has been struggling in recent months. Please pray for us as we research the reasons why the older young people are not engaging with us.

  • Please pray for the young people who are choosing to explore faith in Jesus.

  • Please pray for the 13 young people that The Bridge is taking to West Midlands Spree. The camp is in July, but please pray that God prepares their hearts for a wonderful weekend, and the opportunities they need.

If you'd like to know more, please do get in touch.

Kind regards

John Prockter
