I remember that day in April 2012 when I met with Rev. Vincent Mokaya, some men from his home Bible study group and the owner of a small house to sign a lease agreement and pay the rent for a new place of worship in this small community. This was the beginning of First Baptist Church of Kawaida in Kenya, East Africa.

In another 2 months, Pastor Vincent and I would baptize 16 new believers in a cold-water stream in the middle of a very beautiful tea farm. We returned to that same cold stream later that year to baptize 20 more.

Outgrowing the small house, walls were removed, and new walls built to accommodate the rapidly growing congregation. About 3 years after the church had its humble beginnings, Pst. Mokaya and I began searching for money to buy a plot of ground to build a proper church building.

In early 2018 we finally had enough money to buy the land and begin constructing the long anticipated new place of worship.

We are so close now. Another $7,000 should be enough to get the structure to the point where the church can be occupied. Prayerfully consider making a gift today.
