'This Dancing Is Beyond The Pale!'
We'll finally get to do the 'Dancing In The Dark' Theme
We're on the road again, this time to Beyond The Pale Brewery (850 Industrial Ave, Unit 12). It's in the City Centre, the big curvy industrial building in Hintonburg near the Bayview O-Train Station. A great central location, an impressive taproom, and really delicious beers. They were my personal introduction to the relatively new batch of Craft Brewers cropping up in Ottawa over the past few years, and they have a soft spot in my heart.
We'll finally be doing to the 'Dancing' theme. Some important feature songs from the set are: Dancing In The Dark (Bruce Springsteen), Dancing With Myself (Billy Idol), Moondance (Van Morrison) and many more. Also, I believe Michael and Nadia volunteered themselves to demonstrate the waltz (the dance), so we'll have many waltzes to play for them: Log Driver's Waltz, Mr Bojangles, Tenessee Waltz. Lots of great music to share together this week.
What can you expect at Beyond The Pale? First off, I do need to let you know that as with the other Taprooms we've visited so far, this is not a restaurant. There are bar snacks available, but no meals. Please come fed. You're also welcome to bring in your own food, though don't rely on Art-Is-In as they will already be closed when we start arriving. What you can expect is a fabulous selection of beer and ways of tasting their many flavours without committing to whole pints.
I hope to see you out on Wednesday night for another Ukebox Pub Night. These new locations always offer new experiences, new flavous. We'll make it fun together. Cheers!

Registrations are going great! This is going to be an exciting event. There are still shirts to be claimed though, and we'd love to really blow people away by getting an astonishing number of people out. So go ahead and keep spreading the word! Ask people to register here.
Some of you were at last Wednesday's Ukebox Pub Night where we got to field test our songs for the Pop Ups. Thanks for coming out! If you didn't have that chance, no problem. I've cut up the video from the night and posted the videos below each of the song sheets for each song. There are now more videos to play along with and practice. Remember, we're not looking for perfection, but you'll have more fun the more familiar you are with the songs, chords and rhythms.
Here are the songs we'll be doing in the Market:
- May 12th - Thunder (Imagine Dragons) & 1234 (Feist) (possibly Sesame Street Version)
- May 13th - Obladi Oblada (The Beatles) & Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head (Burt Bacharach)

- May 20th - Signs (Five Man Electrical Band) & Sweet City Woman (Stampeders)

I've got a nice list of potential Breweries to contact still, though with the Tulip Festival, I haven't gotten to it. Stay tuned, we'll find have another Brewery Tour stop to make on the second week of June.
