Higgins Team WINS Rocky Mountain Invitational - 2018
Congrats to the
Team Siggins: Eric Kowal, Travis Gaddie, Adam Endicott and
Mike Siggins - these cats were "on fire" and won the
1st annual Rocky Mountain Invitational in Denver, CO. Also representing the CCC was the Devlin Team:
Marnie Devlin, Tracey Drummond, Tom Dukerich and
Debbie Aubrey.
Coyotes Sweep the Pacific International Cup in Vancouver, B.C.
The Coyotes Curling Club was well represented by Team LeClair and Team Naso at the 19th Annual Pacific International Cup hosted by the Richmond Curling Club in B.C., Canada in April, 2018. Both men's and women's teams qualified for the playoff event with
Team LeClair winning GOLD and
Team Naso taking SILVER in the international pool. The gold win gave LeClair the opportunity to play against the gold winner of the BC pool and they came up just short against a tough hometown team. Congratulations Team LeClair:
Adam Endicott, Tom Danielson, Jeff Baird, Bob LeClair.
And a special shout-out to Team Naso:
Tracey Drummond, Debbie Aubrey, Susanne Grandson, CarolAnn Naso. The team was recognized in the PIC's daily newsletter: "
Sportsmanship on display - Arizona's women needed only 5 ends to beat Singapore 8-0, but after shaking hands the Arizona women offered to stay on the ice and mix up the teams for three more ends to give the rookie Singapore players more experience on curling club ice. Bravo!" (
picup.ca/2018day3.pdf) Congratulations Team Naso -
thank you for representing the Coyotes Curling Club so well and demonstrating true curling spirit!
Team Burton WINS Desert Ice
Congratulations to the tough "monster" team of
Jayne Burton, Tatiana Keeling, Amy Thompson and
Kimberly Gaddie who prevailed in a nail biter, last-shot-for-the-win final game against team Spirit of Canada from Calgary, AB in one of CCC's signature bonspiels.
Other winners included:
The Grumpy Old Men -
Carl Naso, Bronco Briggs, Peter Maxie and
Louis Maconi over team We Should Be Golfing from Evergreen CC. The third event was won by CCC's
Clean Sweep -
Nils Johansson, Gary McKnight, Craig Burton and
Travis Gaddie over team Nutmeg CC. Fourth event winner was Team Wilfort from Stettler CC in Alberta over CCC's
Team Twohig -
David Twohig, John Calhoun, Sandy Calhoun and
Alan Jacobs. Huge THANKS to
Karen Tait for organizing another phenomenal event, silent auction organizer
Joan Philpott, and food manager extraordinaire,
Louise Xifo. And of course, it would not be possible without our great ice crew -
thank you all!
