Since my last email on 11 March, I served as a Chaplain on a bicycle ride across the Lone Star State, and logged a few miles with veterans near our Nation’s Capital. I cycled 2130 miles year to date; a few hundred shy of the distance from California to New York, and over half my total distance from 2017, but I have a long way to go. While the American Heart Association only recommends 1.25 hours of intense aerobic activity per week to maintain one’s health, I intend to average 5 hours a week of race pace cycling (20+mph). Why? I know victims of anxiety, post-traumatic stress, and sexual trauma… you cannot inspire these folks with “maintain” levels of training.

If you want to join with me on my quest to positively and quantifiably change the lives of our nation’s healing heroes, I invite you to consider three things. (1) Learn about our journey of bicycle therapy, by watching my 2-4 minute videos on YouTube, or reading my bookabout how group cycling saved my life. (2) Financially enable Project Hero’s (or World TEAM Sports) ability to provide veterans and first responders with life changing events, by committing to donate an amount (i.e. $1.00) for every mile I cycle during events, in training, or both. (3) Share my story with a veteran who could benefit from these program, or a supporter who can come alongside us.

I do not have the ability to change lives on my own, so please study up on my journey, support my sponsors, and share this with the world!
