Posted by Keturah Hetrick on May 7, 2018 The AFL-CIO, the country's largest federation of trade unions, has snagged a senior policy adviser from the office of Rep. Elizabeth Esty (D-Conn.). Matthew Colvin now works as an AFL-CIO legislative representative. He most recently handled Esty's agriculture, transportation and telecomm portfolios and has also worked for Rep. Albio Sires and Sen. Robert Menendez, both New Jersey Democrats. Colvin has not yet filed as a lobbyist with AFL-CIO but registered as one during his time with the Safe Routes to School National Partnership, a non-profit that promotes safe school commutes by foot and bicycle.
