Dorchester Road Rehabilitation: Update
At Tuesday's meeting, Niagara Falls City Council approved an additional $400,000 in capital funding to temporarily rehabilitate Dorchester Road from McLeod Road to Lundy's Lane.
The rehabilitation will involve milling and paving as an efficient, cost-effective, 10-year solution to address drivability and drainage issues by removing all the construction joints and re-establishing the crown in the road. Full road reconstruction and new infrastructure work is forecasted to commence in 8 to 10 years.
The original 2018 Capital budget included $500,000 to address concerns on Dorchester Road as part of the Road Resurfacing and Rehabilitation Program. The additional $400,000 will be allocated from the City's Federal Gas Tax Program.
