Dear Pastors, Friends, and Prayer Partners:

Spring seems to finally have arrived and it is a wonderful reminder of “new life!” In our travels we keep seeing baby calves and horses running through the pastures. The mornings are very loud as the birds are singing and building nests and preparing to lay eggs. Trees are budding and flowers are blooming. All of this reminds me of the words to an old John R. Rice revival song:

Let the sun shine again,

Let the flowers bloom again,

Stir the embers of love in my heart,

Holy Spirit reprove,

Then embrace me again,

Let the sun shine again in my heart!

Everywhere we look we are reminded that winter is ending and “revival” has come! I am so thankful that as Micah and I travel and preach and give the gospel that God is always in the business of bringing “Spring” to hearts that are cold and needy! “If we seek Him,” we are told, “we will find Him.” “Draw nigh to God,” James said, “and He will draw nigh to you!” What wonderful truths and wonderful promises.

As I write, Micah is in his final days of his evangelistic work in Honduras. I know that souls have been saved and churches have been strengthened. Soul-winners have been helped. Children’s workers have been trained. The gospel has been preached over and over and over again. Thank you for praying for this trip and for giving so that the gospel could be preached. Fruit is abounding to your account!

While Micah finishes his evangelistic work in Honduras, my family is finishing a six week series of meetings here at home. We have traveled from Louisiana to North Carolina to Virginia to Michigan to Kentucky and now to Alabama.  It has been a great trip. Our meeting two weeks ago in Michigan was greatly blessed. We had great crowds and open hearts and sensed the reviving presence of the Lord in each service.  Volinia Baptist is a great church with a big heart for souls. They are proof that in the most rural of areas churches can win people and have a huge impact in dozens of lives! Last week was also an encouragement. We have partnered with Harvest Baptist Temple for revival meetings for many years. It has had some problems in recent years but the new pastor, our old friend and Crown College graduate Greg Dowdy, is being used of God to revive that work. Four years ago when I was there the church was under 100 in attendance. Last Sunday over 200 gathered for the services.  We had a wonderful revival and left rejoicing that God is letting “the sun shine again” in that church!

This week we are in a new-to-us church in Millbrook, AL. Grandview Pines Baptist is a growing church and we had a wonderful start to our “Hope for the Home” Conference.  Pray that God will use us to strengthen both the church and the families in this area!

On a very personal note, I want to tell you about our Abigail’s college graduation that will take place next week.  She is graduating from West Coast Baptist College and later in the summer will be joining the ministries there as an employee. She has a young man in her life (we are delighted) and he works as a professor at the college. We look forward to introducing all of you to David Adams! Pray for us as our family will be flying to Vegas this weekend (I am preaching for our friend David Teis at Liberty Baptist Church) and driving on to California for next’s week’s celebration.  Bethlie and I are super proud of Abigail and are excited to see how God continues to bless and direct in her life.  Our Joshua will be a college senior next year and our Matthew graduates from High School in a few weeks as well. I would say that I am getting old, but my Bethlie continues to assure me that nothing is further from the truth. She is a very intelligent lady so I am going with what she said.

We love all of you who pray for us and support us so faithfully. Your part in our ministry is an incredible blessing to us.  We need you and are thankful for you.

Write us when you can.

Your sincere friend,

Dave Young
