It's Wildflower Week! It's so great to have the legendary Wildflower Triathlon back. After a year's hiatus and after dealing with challenges of a drought-stricken Lake San Antonio, the lake is back and the epic weekend is back.
In honor of the return of Wildflower, we start our featured interviews with three of our favorite Wildflower people:Terry Davis, Jesse Thomas, and Heather Jackson.
Since the first Wildflower Triathlon in 1983, most of triathlon's greats have raced there, including Scott Molina, who won in 1984, and Paula Newby-Fraser, who won there an amazing five times.
And while it is one of our sport's greatest bucket-list races, Jan Frodeno has yet to experience the One and Only Wildflower. Maybe one day we will see Jan there.
I hope you enjoy this week's featured interviews. And if you are going to be at Wildflower, be sure to say Hi!
No better place to start than a conversation with Terry Davis, creator, founder, and long-time race director of the Wildflower Triathlon. Terry joined me on Babbittville Radio to announce the return of the race, and talk about why the event is so special.

Should we just call him The King of Wildflower? Jesse Thomas has won six straight Wildflower Triathlon titles, and will try for his seventh on Saturday. The former steeplechaser excels on some of the most brutal courses on the circuit, and clearly enjoys racing at Wildflower.

Heather Jackson's first professional win came at Wildflower in 2012, and she went on to win there again in 2013 and 2014. Heather loves the event and will be back racing on Saturday, looking to get her 4th Wildflower Triathlon win. In this interview with Heather she describes how that win in 2012 was one of the greatest days of her career.
In Case You Missed It:
As we celebrate Ironman's 40th anniversary, I've been looking back at each of my years at the Hawaii Ironman, starting in 1980. This week I took a look back at the 1988 race, where Scott Molina and Paula Newby-Fraser were victorious.

Enjoy these two classic Babbittville Radio interviews with the 1988 Ironman World Champions, who also just happen to be former Wildflower champions. Scott Molina won there in 1984, and Paula Newby-Fraser won there five times:

Jan Frodeno recently joined me on Babbittville Radio to talk about his IRONMAN 70.3 Oceanside win. Jan also reflected on his 2017 Ironman World Championship race, and his rivalry with Lionel Sanders.
