Recycled timber to combat erosion
Local Land ServicesRoads and Maritime Services, Local Land Services and Soil Conservation Service have commenced a project that will use large timbers salvaged from the Woolgoolga to Ballina Pacific Highway upgrade to rehabilitate riverbank erosion along the Clarence River.

The four year project will help manage erosion along nearly 4.5km of riverbank through the placement of approximately 400 large rootballs and logs and rock revetment. These remediation earthworks works will be complimented by a revegetation and site maintenance program of more than 55,000 trees.

Cattle tick fever
North Coast LLS District Vets are reminding owners of the importance of having unusual disease events investigated following the recent diagnosis of tick fever in the Kendall area.  We need to work together to keep such diseases out and you can help by being on the lookout for unusual symptoms and contact either your private veterinarian, District  Veterinarian or the emergency animal disease hotline on 1800 675 888.

Autumn wild dog season

We encourage all interested landholders to contact their local North Coast Local Land Services office to find out how to be involved in a coordinated control program. Read more.
