Legislative Session 2018
Comes to a Close

After months of preparation, bill tracking, lobbying and advocating, legislative session has come to an end. The efforts of our advocacy team were a huge success!

One major highlight was the passing HB1870: This new law now requires school districts and special education services associations to include all excess cost students within their jurisdiction— including those attending public charter schools – and also allows public charter schools to join or form special education services associations to increase capacity to serve high-needs special education students. Celebrate National Charter Schools Week with TCSC!

Every year, National Charter Schools Week gives us the chance to raise awareness about our amazing schools and showcase the academic successes of our students. This year, we're highlighting our Change Makers—the teachers, leaders, elected officials, advocates, families, students, and alumni who make up the movement.

Join us in recognizing our high-quality public charter schools for National Charter Schools Week starting May 7-11, 2018! Follow the hashtag, #CharterSchoolsWeek as we celebrate the Change Makers in our state throughout the week.
