May Day Celebration

Thank you, Laurie, for sharing your photos from the May Day Celebration on Monday this week.

"It is a huge social challenge to learn to create an evenly textured braid while dancing harmoniously. Often knots are involuntarily created within seconds of the first practice—and they might take ten minutes of a concentrated group effort to undo the mistakes. We all learn from the experience—only by working together can something new come into being. This is the significance and beauty of the Maypole Dance tradition." ~ excerpt from The Maypole Dance – An Ancient Tradition with Modern Significance

Many blessings
