Following the community open days held at the Royal George Hotel last month by owners Saracen Properties, the Town has received a number of queries from members of the community wishing to comment on the concept drawings depicting the proposed development of the Royal George Hotel.  The Town would like to advise that these drawings and images prepared by the property owner are initial concept drawings to obtain preliminary feedback from the community.

The time is right-  get the flu vaccine now!

The flu is a very common and highly contagious respiratory viral infection that can cause serious illness, hospitalization and even death. The flu vaccine not only protects you but also reduces the risk of spreading infection to your family, colleagues and vulnerable people in the community. The Department of Health advises that the best time to get vaccinated for the flu is May or June each year, as protection from the flu vaccine tends to wane over 3 to 4 months. By getting vaccinated now, you are optimally protected during Western Australia’s peak fly season from July to October. The following vulnerable people are eligible for free flu vaccines:

  • Pregnant women,
  • People aged 65 years and over,
  • Aboriginal people aged 6 months to 5 years, and 15 years and older,
  • Individuals aged 6 months and over with medical conditions that put them at risk of severe influenza.
People not eligible for the free vaccine can get it through their GP or at a participating chemist for a small cost. For further information click here.
