• Hasbro has reportedly acquired franchises from Saban Entertainment, including the Power Rangers, for $150 million. The addition bolsters the world's largest toymakers already vast stable of franchises, but at a time in which shifts toward electronic pastimes and retailer difficulties (see: Toys R Us) have put pressure on companies like Hasbro. • Yesterday's earning announcements saw positive (Apple's apps, services, share buybacks, and China) and negative (Snap's first Spectacles) moves, but today will focus on Tesla's quarterly reveal after market close. Investors have grown increasingly concerned that the electric vehicle maker will need to raise additional capital this year, on top of other worries regarding production delays and an investigation into headline accidents. • Shares of Match Group, who owns Tinder, OkCupid, and Match.com, plummeted 20% yesterday following the announcement at the F8 conference that Facebook will launch dating features on its main platform. Features have yet to be made clear, though users will be able to create a separate dating profile that would be private from friends. My favorite take on this announcement comes from Joey Levin, the CEO of IAC (majority owner of Match Group): "Come on in. The water’s warm. POLITICS

• A coalition of 17 states and the District of Columbia have sued the Environmental Protection Agency over its plan to weaken vehicle efficiency standards, claiming it violates the Clean Air Act. Led by Scott Pruitt, who is down two aides, the EPA has sought to rewrite Obama-era rules that had called for average fuel efficiency to increase to 54.5 mpg by 2025. NPR

• Least surprising revelation of the day... the doctor who wrote the 2015 note that proclaimed that then-candidate Donald Trump would be the "healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency" now says that the note was dictated by Trump himself. The Guardian
                           

SPORTS

• [Basketball] 15 years after his debut, LeBron James continues to astound as he led the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 113-112 win in overtime over the top-seeded Toronto Raptors. Amazingly, the Cavaliers never actually led during regulation, tying the game up with only 30 seconds left in the fourth quarter before eventually stealing Game 1. The Golden State Warriors (and a newly returned Stephen Curry who was out with an MCL sprain) also narrowly won, beating the New Orleans Pelicans 121-116 to take a 2-0 series lead.
  
  Just one playoff game tonight as the Utah Jazz seek to even up their series against the Houston Rockets at 8 p.m. ET. NBA
                           


• [Hockey] The Washington Capitals took a 2-1 series lead against the Pittsburgh Penguins thanks to a ridiculous goal by Alex Ovechkin, who hit the post with his first attempt but managed to bat the puck in while it was in midair from the rebound. The Winnipeg Jets staged a comeback against the Nashville Predators, leaving the first period down by three but then outscoring their visiting opponents 7-1 in the last two periods.
  
  The Tampa Bay Lightning and the Boston Bruins try to break their series tie tonight at 7 p.m. ET, followed by the Vegas Golden Knights and the San Jose Sharks at 10 p.m. ET.

CULTURE

• Nostalgia and celebrities were big winners as the nominations for this year's Tony Awards were revealed, topped by Mean Girls and SpongeBob SquarePants with 12 nominations apiece, while Harry Potter and the Cursed Child received 10. Bruce Springsteen, Tina Fey, Denzel Washington, Amy Schumer and Michael Cera also picked up nominations, advancing one step closer to EGOT greatness... Variety
