How does cohousing get built? Bassett Creek Cohousing group presents "From Interest Group to Community" with John Kalmon, a registered architect accredited in LEED energy-efficient construction.

People talk of living lightly on the planet, and having closer ties to neighbors. John will help us understand how to turn a cohousing core group into a real built neighborhood.

Successful Aging workshops start Sept 8 - St Paul group now called "SAGE Living"

Having met now for about a year, the recently renamed Saint Paul core group is set for a deeper dive with a 10-part series of Saturday morning workshops specifically aimed at people considering senior cohousing, and they invite you to join them. SAGE (as in "SAGE Living") stands for "Successfully Aging as a Group Endeavor." (There is a cost to attend; see below.)

Making progress on and finding compatriots to help navigate your journey of successful aging and cohousing exploration can be difficult. These workshops provide that opportunity. Register today. Sponsored by SAGE Living and facilitated by cohousing educator Lynn Englund from the Hopework consulting group.

Communities Magazine free digital download

Did you notice that Communities Magazine, the publication of the nonprofit organization Fellowship for Intentional Community that frequently reports on cohousing and related housing-community forms, is now offering a free digital download of their magazine? The most recent issue's theme is Eco-Building.
 

Monterey Cohousing working on expansion plan

Monterey Cohousing Community decided in June to begin a process for planning, designing and building up to eight additional units that would add to the size of their community. Urban Works Architecture is their partner on developing their concept into reality. See more here.

Monterey, located in St Louis Park, is having a National Night Out potluck this evening (Tues., Aug. 7, 2018); more information is available on their website.
