Topanga Creek Outpost
Saturdays - 8 AM - Shop Ride

We ride for about 2 1/2  hours every Saturday from the Outpost.  Always Fun. Always Hills.  Always a good crowd.  Show up early. We leave exactly at 8 AM.

Cool Stuff, People & Things at the Outpost
Simon stopped by after the Saturday ride with his Surly Rover Brown Ogre we had built up for him as he was finishing up a bikepacking overnight somewhere in the Santa Monica Mountains surrounding us.
Surf WAX.   Sometimes we are just having fun with what we sell and what we do.
__________
Keith's Bike Fort

Keith has a bike fort for two wheeled travelers in Stillwater OK and we received the kindest note from him with a picture of the fort.    Bucket list.

New Bike Day
Our neighbor Dave was chatting with Kris, our Rocky Mountain representative about bikes and things.    All things lead to Dave with his new Rocky Mountain Solo for a fast commute through the canyon trails and fire roads.
Job, like many people, wanted a fast fun commuting kinda bike that can go off road and everywhere.   The Surly Straggler fit the bill and here is Dave with his new bike.
Kathy has been clutching her Christmas bike gift certificate for a while and picked up her new Surly Karate Monkey.
Brent and Amy were first in line for the new Surly Bridge Club and here they are ready to go.  We do a lot of adventure bikes with a lot of people and are always excited to hear where they are headed.  These two. Everywhere.
Garrett picked up a Salsa Cycles Fargo and we had a nice big caption about it because it was Chris's first adventure bike and he had just visited his original bikepacking buddy Steve reminiscing from 5 plus years ago with the two going on trips through California and Iowa before bikepacking was a thing and anyone cared about Instagram.     We are super psyched for Garrett and here are a couple photos from the past archives below with Salsa Fargos, Chris and Steve and their adventures.
The new Surly Lowside. Single Speed Joy.
We got All City curious after chatting with the dudes at Sea Otter Classic.
We had a bunch of bikes fall over when we were scrambling to get cookies out of the oven and they got scratched a while back.    Stop by and see scratch and dents.   Some bikes are 15 % off because of minimal scratches.
We planted flowers and it makes us feel good.
Shameless marketing.   We keep flowers around so people feel comfortable and have a good experience visually.
Unpredict Your Weekend at
Sea Otter Classic.
We went to have some fun camping at Sea Otter Classic for Chris's birthday.    Super fun time.  Jeovany found us a terrific last minute camping place and it was ideal.
Here is a link to our new online shop.
We went on a late night ride with our buddies from Surly and Dirt Rag Magazine during Sea Otter Classic along the water in Monterey to a late night bon fire bar in an abandoned bunker in the middle of nowhere.    Crazy fun.  Dudes.  Thanks.  Chris was even able to throw his hatchet around.
Sea Otter classic is so much goodness during a weekend.   The place is filled with all kinds of bike events.  BMX, Mountain, Adventure, Road, Grand Fondo, etc.   There are literally thousands of things to see and we could not do it justice.    The two above are wooden bikes and when we visited our friends at Buddy Pegs, they were interviewing Gary Fisher.  Small world fun stuff.

Rogue Journeymen is our house brand of products including leather goods made by us in Topanga.   We are in a pretty good place about it and are growing quickly.    We have been getting the word out and have found lots of opportunity for pop-ups.    We recently took some of the left over guitar wood scraps from Danny, the guitar maker and a couple of old Adirondack Chairs and started a traveling Surly Ted Trailer for RJ. Super excited with how this is working out.  Look for us on the road more often.
A few items at our online store.

We received an extraordinary note last year from Matt about having a fun time with his dad at the Outpost.    The card had a hand painted watercolor on the cover.  We appreciated it and asked if we could make t-shirts with the water color.      Here is Matt with his original card wearing the shirt.   We finally have  Topanga Creek Outpost / Rogue Journeymen web store with the shirt for USA shipping.  Click here if you want one.

Turns out that very few people read this far in a dispatch, or at least don't mention they read to the end and learned the secret phone number below.

Rarely published actual phone number.
Nobody reads this far anyway,
we might as well give it out.
(310) 455-1451

Perhaps it is time for a new sign.
