OurDigitalWorld and the University of Windsor Leddy Library announce a new partnership

We are thrilled to announce an exciting partnership between OurDigitalWorld and the Leddy Library at the University of Windsor. This agreement will leverage OurDigitalWorld’s long-standing track record in newspaper digitization and combine these efforts with recent work at the Leddy Library on community history and digital scholarship. Read more about it in our press release.

OurDigitalWorld releases three new cross-Ontario virtual exhibits on multicultural history

We’re excited to announce the release of three virtual exhibits focusing on different aspects of Ontario’s multicultural history. These narrative exhibits are themed on black historyJapanese history, and women’s history in the province.

These virtual exhibits are available on a dedicated VITA digital toolkit platform:

Thanks to a Multicultural Community Capacity Grant from the Government of Ontario through the Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration, we are undertaking a series of projects bringing together materials from across Ontario to explore the histories of women and multicultural communities. These three virtual exhibits are built from the digital collections of over 50 Ontario heritage institutions. See the news release here.

OurDigitalWorld receives a Multicultural Community Capacity Grant

ODW is the recipient of a second MCC grant from the Government of Ontario. Building on our first-round project of virtual exhibits about Ontario's multicultural history, we're planning to build corresponding curriculum resources to bring these digitized primary-source materials into the classroom. See the news release here. Get in touch if you'd like to participate in this project!

Stay tuned: OurDigitalWorld and SOLS are partnering on an upcoming survey of digitization in Ontario public libraries

OurDigitalWorld will be partnering with SOLS to conduct a survey on the state of digitization activities in public libraries across Ontario. We’re undertaking this research in light of the Ontario Culture Strategy goal to promote cultural engagement and inclusion, and the National Heritage Digitization Strategy goals based on medium and creation date. See the news release here.
