Chapter Office Closure May 18 to 27th

The Chapter office will be closed Friday, May 18th and will re-open Monday, May 28th. Christine is traveling to the World Congress of Hemophilia to give a presentation on the Parents Empowering Parents Program.

MB Chapter Office is Going Virtual!

In order to continue to provide the level of programs and services that the members of CHS-MC enjoy, the Chapter Board has decided to move to a virtual office model. We do not make enough revenue to support the overhead of a physical office.  All the equipment and supplies needed to operate the functions of the office, will be located in the home of our employee, Christine Keilback.
The Chapter has rented a small storage locker for our archives, fundraising and awareness supplies as well as all things of historical significance to the membership. We will have the move completed by June 1st.
Our new mailing address is effective immediately:

Great Turnout for Education Day April 14th!

We had a great turnout this year! Thank you to our Education Day Sponsors Bayer, Octapharma and Shire. We were all so impressed with Jeremy Hall’s presentation. Thank you to the member panel: Chris Silver, Riley Nichol, Cory Prestayko and Tony Tavares. We learned we have some athletes of our own! Kathy Mulder walked us through In the Driver’s Seat, a booklet to guide adults through physical activity decisions.  Thank you to Dr. Stoffman for his presentation on current and emerging coagulation products. We appreciate Bayer, Bioverativ, Octapharma and Shire for giving us presentations on their current products and sharing what they have coming up in their pipeline.
Diversity Catering and the Recreation Department at the Duckworth Centre at the University of Winnipeg gave us a wonderful breakfast and location to hold our event. Chew/The Store Next Door delivered an amazing lunch! Thank you to Bill Featherstone for taking photos of the day, for us to share. Thank you to Milena Pirnat Education Committee Chair and Alisa Hildebrand for all your help planning the day! There are photos on the Chapter’s Facebook page.

Adult Physical Activity Program

Cory Prestayko shared with the members at Education day his experience with the Adult Physical Activity Program. This is a Chapter sponsored program that is administered through the MBDP adult physiotherapist, Greig Blamey. Approved members have the opportunity to access a personal trainer to help develop a personalized workout strategy to meet the member’s goals while accommodating the bleeding disorder. For all the information, please visit Adult Physical Activity Program
