Updates from the Marketplace and lots more

Hi <<First Name>>

The Marketplace was a huge hit and there's lots more to come

We thought we'd touch-base with a few updates on our activities this year, provide highlights from the Marketplace event and share some exciting news.
Updates from the Marketplace and Battery Storage workshop
The TRB members, in conjunction with Indigo Shire council, hosted our first Marketplace on the afternoon of Saturday 21 April in Beechworth.

This event featured some great guest speakers and a range of case studies, information stalls and commercial product vendors. A highlight was the launch of Indigo Shire’s “Home Battery Storage FAQ” Booklet and the delivery of a battery basics presentation.  This introduction was supported with lots of resources and expertise to answer your burning questions about battery storage and included local case studies.

We’d like to thank the 130 plus attendees who joined us, our fabulous guest speakers, stall holders and our magic ‘kitchen fairy’ who kept the clean coffee mugs coming. You were a very welcome surprise.

Prof Kate Auty, Commissioner for Sustainability and the Environment (ACT) opened the Marketplace and was our first guest speaker. Damien Moyse, Alternative Technology Association, Matt Charles-Jones from Totally Renewable Yackandandah and Tom Brown, Sustainability Victoria followed. We are grateful for their generous contributions on the day and ongoing support of renewable energy initiatives.

If you have more questions, or missed out on the day our stall holders are still available to speak with, just follow the links to get in touch with Solar Integrity, eco power&lighting, SunLit Solar Light and Power,  Mondo, The Alternative Technology Association, and Sustainability Vic.

Helen Jones, Indigo Shire Council remains custodian of some of the material available from the event. Please contact Helen if these are of interest to you on helen.jones@indigoshire.vic.gov.au.

Thanks to Indigo Shire Council for our selection of photos.
Some highlights of media coverage TRB is enjoying
Bev Smith, one our fabulous TRB members is getting a reputation for great interviews. Catch up on renewable energy news from the Ovens and Murray Advertiser

The Border Mail covered our Marketplace and spoke with Kate Auty and others to create this story.

We even made it into Environment Victoria's newsletter. Check out page 14 for for the TRB team's smiling faces.

Regular meetings ensure we are all connected, learning from each other and working together on projects of mutual benefit.

If you are after a copy of the Towards a Totally Renewable Indi; A Case Study in Community Action which shows some of these activities, please download via the button below, contact Cathy McGowan's office or access the web version here.  Renewable energy initiatives are growing quickly across our region and we expect this case study to be updated later this year.
