Welcome to the 5th Last Rights Newsletter
General Data Protection Regulations
As Last Rights is based in the European Union (EU), and we process the personal data of EU citizens, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) affects us and the way we collect, store and use personal information.
The GDPR says you must obtain freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous consent from your contacts. You also must clearly explain how you plan to use their personal data.
As you may have noticed we use MailChimp to manage our mailing lists and our signup forms are now GDPR-friendly and include checkboxes for opt-in consent, and editable sections that explain how and why we are using your data.
To summarise we only collect 3 pieces of information: an email address and your first and last names. Only the first is mandatory. We send nothing other than a infrequent newsletter email to these addresses.
More information about the GDPR can be found here.
You can view and update the information we have about you here.
And you can unsubscribe from the Last Right mailing-list here.
However of course we hope that you will continue to support the efforts of Last Rights in trying to assure and codify the dignified treatment of all missing and deceased persons and their families as a consequence of migrant journeys.
Your help and support is much appreciated.
