Dear Pope Francis Global Academy Families,

I would like to start my letter with a BIG thank you to the Night at the Races Committee! It was a sold out event filled with lots of fun, creative horse names, and lots of winning bets!  The biggest winner of the night of course was the school, and I want to thank the chairs Nicole and John McGrath, and their committee members: Erin and Jason Lach, Jen and Mark Kearns, and Beth and Brian Gleeson for all of their hard work before, during, and after the event!

A BIG thank you as well to all of the volunteers who gave of their time the night of to help make the night such a success!

Just a reminder next week is going to be a busy week with Grandparents Day on Monday, May 21st at the north campus and Wednesday, May 23rd at the south campus.  We invite all grandparents to begin their day with us in celebration of the mass at 8:30 am followed by hospitality from 9:15-9:45 in the auditorium (north)/gym (south). From 9:45-10:30 am grandparents will be invited to visit their grandchild(ren)’s classroom(s) for a peak into their day and a fun activity.

In addition to Grandparents Day, we will also be participating in the Wolf Run at Dunham Park on Thursday, May 24th. I know that this year’s run is different since we will be offsite and using the Boosterthon Company, and I want to let you know that I am very thankful for all of the support and words of encouragement that I have received regarding the event. It means a lot to me that you recognize that I am doing my best given the circumstances.

I want you to know that my main focus is on the students’ fun and the school community spirit that we are building.  While I would love to purchase a Chromebook cart for each campus, I recognize that that is not the biggest goal here.  My biggest goal is your kids; I want all of the students to leave the run happy with great memories for them to always have with their classmates and the whole school.  If you have not already signed your child up at funrun.com, please do so and know that we appreciate any dollar amount no matter how large or small, and I am certainly not going to exclude anyone because they didn’t bring in a certain amount.

For those of you that are chaperoning or plan to stop by the park to cheer the kids on, please see the following schedule for run times.  We will begin bussing students by grade level from each campus beginning at 8:45 am that morning.

Run Times - utilizing two tracks
The run is approximately 30 minutes for each group.
10:00 am - PK - Grade 3
11:15 am - Grades 4 - 8

Thursday’s Lunch Schedule (Regular lunch format at the schools)
11:45 - 12:05 pm - PK - Grade 3
