Action is the Key to All Foundational Success

Quarterly Newsletter

The Capital Region is experiencing a time of tremendous opportunity. There is a growing culture of awareness, a desire for collaboration, and a willingness to explore new ideas. As our region evolves, the Metro Chamber Foundation is committed to fostering economic and community development through the promotion of young professionals, emerging leaders, and philanthropy. More than ever, now is the time to get involved and find your Path to Lead.

The Metro Chamber Foundation has four programs under it's growing portfolio: Metro EDGE, Leadership Sacramento, Inspire Giving, and Thousand Strong. Together, these four programs help young professionals connect, embrace employees who lead and encourage professionals and businesses to give back and serve the communities they call home.

Our mission is to increase regional investment in young people. We believe strongly that building a talent pipeline, improving workforce diversity and bringing new ideas and skills into the workplace are all critical components of building a healthy and thriving community.

The time is now to get involved, embrace the programs we offer, and make a difference in the future of our region. Take the first step by learning more at our annual Summer Games on Thursday, August 30th. Come meet program participants, learn how to get involved, and see the impact these programs have on our community. We look forward to seeing you there.

Metro EDGE

#NextLevel Immersion Day

Metro EDGE's Immersion Day is one of our biggest regional advocacy events and this year, will be focused on housing. The day will provide an opportunity for participants to deep dive into the housing climate in our region and speak with local industry leaders to understand this complex topic. Participants will also go on exclusive site visits to existing and upcoming housing developments in Sacramento.

As Sacramento continues to grow and thrive, it's more important than ever to be informed. The dramatic growth of the Sacramento region affects us all and Metro EDGE is excited to provide an opportunity to discuss this important issue, get in-the-know, and understand what's going on and why it's happening.

Encourage your YPs to get involved in the conversation and register today. Sponsorship opportunities are still available. Contact Andrea Ellinghouse for more information.

Leadership Sacramento

#LS18 Rock The Block

The Leadership Sacramento class of 2018 has selected to support Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento for their inaugural Rock the Block event that will help transform the face of an Oak Park neighborhood in one weekend.

During each Rock the Block event, dozens of volunteers converge on a block to contribute to community transformation through a variety of beautification and exterior repair projects. Building on Habitat's mission to reconnect the community, Rock the Block is all about neighbors helping neighbors, inspiring active participation in your neighborhoods and building sustainable collaborative partnerships.

Donations can made through Habitat for Humanity's website. Please designate your donation by selecting Rock the Block with Leadership Sacramento.
