Welcome to the 2018-19 school year! We look forward to an exciting and successful year!
I hope everyone enjoyed a safe summer filled with activities with family and friends. Whether you are a returning staff member or family member, or if you are new to Hudson, we look forward to your involvement in the school community. We are a team at Hudson, and together we will continue to provide the best educational experiences for our students. I believe the success of our students depends on a strong relationship between students, parents, teachers, and administrators. Positive and productive communication is at the core of these relationships. Your child’s education, care, and safety are of the utmost importance to all of us here at Hudson, and we look forward to working with you! This will be an excellent year!

Lockdown and Shelter in Place
Safety is the priority of the administration, the staff at Hudson, and for you and your children. When families arrive at any of our schools, they will be greeted by a safety advocate who will watch families put in their family code. If your code is not working, or if you do not have a code, the safety advocate (Mr. Wally) will ask you to go to the front office to correct the issue.
The schools use several methods to protect students and staff from a possible threat. All actions are at the direction of the Head of School and the Director. When the school is directed to go into a lockdown, no one is permitted to enter or exit the building. Students and staff remain in their designated rooms/areas and offices out of the line of sight. Shades are pulled down
and doors are locked. Another safety method is “Shelter in Place.” In this scenario, no one is permitted to enter or exit the building, and shades must be pulled down. Students and staff may move around inside of the building. When schools go into lockdown, parents will be notified. However, parents are asked not to come to the school.
Coming to the school can put parents in danger, as well as a crowded parking lot, which may impede authorities from doing their job. You will be notified when the lockdown is complete.
If you are concerned about safety at school or have seen something that concerns you, email megin@hudsoncountry.org

Teachers Lounge
Please remember that the teacher's lounge is for teachers and staff at Hudson only. No parent or child should enter the lounge unless they are escorted by a staff member.
This room is an area away from work, just like a staff lounge in an office. So, we ask for all to respect the one area that the teachers have for themselves. Thank you in advance.

Unless otherwise notified by parent/guardian, Hudson Country Montessori School will allow students to have photographs taken and used in the newspaper, videotapes, our website and other publications. If you do not wish for your child to participate, please send an email or letter to the school office requesting your child not be in any pictures. This request shall be valid for only one school year.
