"And this is what I learned: that the world’s otherness is antidote to confusion, that standing within this otherness — the beauty and the mystery of the world, out in the fields or deep inside books — can re-dignify the worst-stung heart." - Mary Oliver
Nature continuously provides moments to reintroduce us to the world’s ‘otherness’ in one form or another. With June and the onset of summer, the sun shakes of the last vestiges of hibernation and the colors, scents and sounds of summer re-awaken our senses. We have time in summer, more so than at other times of the year, to enjoy the world: to witness the otherness and to allow it to shake off any confusion the previous portion of the year may have brought. We just need to allow ourselves the opportunity to be present and to be witness to that otherness. Take time this summer, with awakened senses to notice that otherness and with it, find some clarity.
