Join the CISV Waterloo Board
Do you love CISV as much as we do? Why not show your love by joining our Board of Directors? We're on the lookout for volunteers to fill a number of important roles:
• Risk Manager
• Interchange Coordinator
• Fundraising Coordinator
• Hosting Coordinator
Interested in one of the positions? Let us know! We can talk time commitment and responsibilities and anything else you want to delve into. Many positions available and training provided. Meetings occur the 1st Monday of the month Sept-June from 7-9pm in Waterloo. Unsure if you’d like join the board? Feel free to attend a meeting and observe. Our next meeting is June 4th. Any member is welcome to observe board meetings. CISV Waterloo is entirely volunteer run and we are always looking for new ideas and to improve what we do. Role descriptions below. Most terms are 2 years in length.
Risk Manager (Term begins Sept 2018; opportunity to train/shadow current Risk Manager) *Additional Training provided by CISV Canada*
• Maintain communication with CISV National about changes to risk management policies and insurance
• Advise program and event coordinators on risk management issues
• Ensure chapter has adequate criminal record check on file for all adult supervisors
• Accountable as voting board member, must attend all chapter meetings
Interchange Coordinator (Term begins Sept 2018; opportunity to train/shadow current Interchange Coordintor) *Additional Training provided by CISV Canada*
• Presentation at Information Nights
• Accept and review delegate applications
• Participate in selection process (organized by Selection Coordinator)
• Conduct home interviews of all delegates and parents
• Help the leader and parents prepare and plan for the program
Fundraising Coordinator (currently vacant)
• Set goals with CISV Executive for annual fundraising targets
• Oversee all fundraising programs
• Take ownership of finding volunteers to fill all Fundraising Committee roles
• Facilitate the development of new fundraising initiatives
• Ensure that financial records are being kept for fundraising by the Fundraising Administrator
Hosting Coordinator (currently vacant: term starts June 2018)
• Set goals with CISV Executive for annual hosting (current hosting plan is 2019, 2020, 2022)
• Oversee all hosting responsibilities: site acquisition and staff hiring
• Collaborate with Volunteer Coordinator to fill roles during camp: drivers, homestays, leaders' weekend
• Facilitate communication with CISV Canada and International
• Ensure that budget is established and followed in collaboration with Treasurer
