Hi <<First Name>>

Thank you for recently joining the Club.

Here is the latest newsletter from the club which went out last week, in case you missed it.
There is important information about the Abel Tasman Trip towards the end of the newsletter, so make sure you read to the end!

Thanks Ian Courtenay, Membership Officer

Hi All,
Here we are full swing into another exciting season of running and walking. This weekend is our first Sprig and Fern 10k series held at the Richmond Sprig in Upper Queen Street. It's a challenging course, but will give you a very satisfying feeling when you finish!!
If you have not joined our merry band, make sure you join before the event this weekend as we have a draw for those early bird members for 2 Kiwi Multi Sports vouchers. It's only $40 for the whole season, and gives you an event every weekend to attend, free entry to our 4 Sprig and Fern events and also Dovedale Hill plus team entry to Relays we hold later at Queen Charlotte and in Greymouth all paid for our members.
Go to our webpage and join up online www.waimeaharriers.nz/join or fill in the paper form available at race registration on Saturday.
Many other little perks, see what Andrew has to say below, and not forgetting the awesome crowd you meet up with each weekend. This group also meet on other occasions to do longer runs, both on weekends and mid week. The only thing we ask of our members is that they share the load of organising , by signing up on our roster to help at our events. If you are new, there are always people to help you learn the ropes, and it's a great way to get to know each other. So please go to our website and click on the roster bit and offer your help by emailing roster@waimeaharriers.nz.
Talking of which, we need sombody to collect the gear to set up the Wallace Shield 1 event at Rabbit Island May 26th. We have people sorted to do the actual set up but we need the gear bringing from our lock up in Stoke. Let us know if you can help.
That's all for now folks, see you all Saturday,

Run wild and free, Eileen

Now here's some important news from Andrew:

The ever popular Abel Tasman Run/Walk, set down for the 22 July 2018, is now open for bookings.

Current Waimea Harrier members will get first pick on this trip, as well a $10 subsidy on the entry price so JOIN the club, but don't delay in making your decision because this event will soon sell out when it is opened up to others.

For those not familiar with this event, the format is to catch a water taxi from Marahau to your chosen destination, then run/walk back to Marahau in your own time and at your own pace. A small part of the entry fee will be donated to Project Janszoon. Last year we filled 5 water taxis! Boats depart Marahau at 9:00am

The price to WH members is:
Marahau - Anchorage (12km) - $20
Marahau - Torrent (15km) - $20
Marahau- Bark (24km) - $25
Marahau - Awaroa (35km) - $30
Marahau - Totaranui (40km) - $30

Please click HERE to register your interest. Payment will be requested in a couple of weeks and made directly with the water taxi operator. (Do not transfer any money into the WH account, except your subscription!)

Thanks, Andrew Barker
