Set amidst ten acres of gorgeous, landscaped gardens on a secluded point overlooking he stunning waters of the Waimea Estuary, Te Koi plays to all the senses. New owners are seasoned hospitality duo, Ali and Ian Metcalfe, successful restauranteurs and boutique travel specialists. Of their vision for the Lodge, Ian says “Te Koi has been designed to create a sense of relaxed elegance paired with superb local fresh food and wine, allowing guests to feel completely at home and enjoy the spectacular surroundings”.
The property has been completely refurbished in 2017/18 and the interiors channel a distinctively European design aesthetic that is at once warm and relaxing. Looking out over the peninsular, the view is, literally breathtaking.
Accommodation ranges from waterfront Suites and Villas to a two-bedroom, self-contained luxury Residence perched on the edge of the peninsular with its own private helipad. Suites and Villas feature private waterfront decks with dazzling Estuary views. The Residence boasts a large out door entertainment deck and private heated spa pool. Interiors are thoughtfully orchestrated to showcase the majestic water vistas, with stylish furnishings and stunning local artwork that work to create a calm oasis of comfort and tranquillity.
For guests wishing to sample local delicacies, in-house Chef, Ali Metcalfe is on hand with specially prepared three-course dinners featuring the best of local seasonal produce, matched with delicious wines from the region.
Te Koi is located approximately half way between Nelson city and Abel Tasman National Park. Centrally placed in the region and accessible by road and helicopter, its tranquil, park-like setting belies its proximity to amenities; just 25 minutes drive to Nelson airport and 30 minutes to Nelson City. Great wineries, artisan beer crafting and fabulous arts complete the local surroundings. Guests are offered private transfers from Nelson Airport.
