Diversity Champion Awards Nomination Period Opens


When you think of diversity champions at Georgia Tech, is there a particular member of the faculty, staff, or student population, or a unit (e.g., college, department, school, or lab) that comes to mind? If so, please take a moment to nominate that individual or unit for the 2018 Diversity Champion Awards.

Graduating IE Rizk Receives Love Scholarship


"Kaitlin Rizk, set to graduate in May as an industrial engineer, was chosen to receive the 2018 Love Family Foundation Scholarship. This award is given to one Georgia Tech student per year and is the highest award attainable for graduating seniors."

More Than 40 Community Members Honored at Sixth Annual Lavender Graduation and Fourth Annual Lavender Awards

 
"On April 19, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, and ally (LGBTQIA) students, faculty, and staff were honored during the at-capacity Sixth Annual Lavender Graduation and Fourth Annual Lavender Awards, hosted by the LGBTQIA Resource Center."

SaBra Neal is the First African American Ph.D. Graduate of the School of CSE

 
"May 4 marked the day that SaBra Neal, a Ph.D. candidate of the School of Computational Science and Engineering (CSE) joined the group of over 100 College of Computing graduate students receiving their degrees. Neal graduated with a focus on energy consumption and distributed simulations in mobile environments research and was advised by Regents’ Professor Richard Fujimoto.

This accomplishment also marked the day that Neal became the first African American Ph.D. candidate to graduate from CSE."

The Georgia Tech Black Alumni Organization offers scholarships every spring to upperclassmen at Georgia Tech. Upperclassmen are encouraged to apply for these scholarships!

Application due: June 15, 2018 at 11:59 p.m.
The mission of the Center for Student Diversity and Inclusion is to provide programmatic and thought leadership, expertise, and advocacy to continue to promote the Institute's diverse student initiatives, programs, and efforts that facilitate our collective goal of student diversity and inclusion.
