Kaiser Permanente Colfax Marathon Road and Traffic Alerts
More than 19,000 athletes are expected to participate in the Kaiser Permanente Colfax Marathon on Sunday, May 20. To provide a safe environment for this year's race, the cities of Aurora, Denver and Lakewood will have temporary road closures along the Colfax Avenue corridor on race day. Dinosaur Flash Mob in 40 West Arts for ArtLine Launch! Things are picking up along the 40 West ArtLine (a walkable, bikeable arts route in the heart of the District) with sculpture art, murals and the wayfinding green line! Follow the progress on Facebook and mark your calendars for our First Friday June 1st launch party. We'll have live music, food trucks, ground mural painting, fence art and ... a dinosaur flash mob. That's right we said it, dinosaurs mobbing the crowd on the half hour (5:30, 6:30 & 7:30 p.m.). Join the fun at this kid and family-friendly event.

Big Boom Bash July 4
Big Boom Bash, a new Fourth of July celebration hosted by the City of Lakewood, will take place on Wednesday, July 4, rain or shine, at Jeffco Stadium, 500 Kipling St. Admission is free for this event, which kicks off at 5:30 p.m. and culminates with a spectacular 20-minute fireworks display beginning at approximately 9:15 p.m. The event includes children’s activities, a community art project, vendor booths and local food trucks. The Lakewood Beer Garden presented by Foothills Credit Union will feature beer from Lakewood breweries and hard cider for purchase.
