Ephesus News:

1. The Box Tops countdown has begun! Our final Box Tops collection for the school year begins Wednesday, May 16, with the deadline being Friday, May 25. Please gather up all your Box Tops — and your neighbors’, and your relatives’! — and turn them in to your child’s teacher. The classroom that collects the most wins an awesome reward!

2. We are currently looking for TWO Special Needs Advisory Council (SNAC) parent representatives for 2018-2019.  SNAC is a group of parents, district staff, and community professionals working together for the continuous improvement of the CHCCS Exceptional Children's (EC) program. We have two official school representatives from each school.

The basic responsibilities of being a SNAC Rep include:

- Attending SNAC meetings as you are able

- Representing EC interests to school-based groups such as SITs and PTA's

- Introducing yourself to your school administration

- Making sure your school web site has a link to the SNAC page

- Submitting SNAC announcements to your school's PTA newsletter

Getting involved with SNAC is a great way to learn about the Exceptional Children's program at CHCCS, share your ideas and learn how to advocate for your child. Learn more at our website:http://snac.chccs.k12.nc.us/home/get-involved.

If you are interested in becoming a parent rep, please contact us at snacofchccs@gmail.com.

District News:

Please join us for the final SNAC meeting of the 2017-18 school year

Tuesday, May 22th, 8:30-10:00 AM

Carolina Center for Educational Excellence (CCEE)

9201 Seawell School Rd, Chapel Hill, NC 27516

Special Needs Advisory Council (SNAC)

We will present the SNAC Election and Survey Results regarding EC and SNAC areas to improve. Work group leaders will present progress and future goals. We will also announce the SNAColade recipients.

SNAC’s  purpose is to influence district policy on EC issues and promote inclusion in our schools. If your child currently has (or recently had) an Individualized Education Program (IEP), a 504 plan, is medically fragile, or has learning differences, then it is in your interest to get involved with SNAC.
