Almost caught up - April 2018

The highlight of our month of April was our baptism service on Sunday, April 22. Caleb had the privilege to baptize 6 believers, some new believers and others who have recently made the decision to obey and be baptized. They are Jorge (in the video), Alicia (top left), Kelly (top right), Juan (middle), Morelia (bottom left), and Jaír (bottom right). Please pray for them as they continue to grow and serve God in our church. Interested in more photos and videos? Click here to see more!
We are thankful to have enjoyed the visit of a pastor friend and his wife, Jeremy and Katie Estrema, during April. Jeremy preached each day in our chapel and taught a block class to our students and area pastors. He also taught our men's meeting and preached the Sunday services at church. It was a busy week, but it was a great shot in the arm for our ministries and our family.
We love having visitors. It helps when they speak Spanish (as do the Estremas), but that's not a requirement. The majority of people who come to visit do so without much Spanish. That's not the point.
What is the point of a missions trip? To see firsthand what life and ministry are like in another place, to encourage the missionary family with your presence, and to be encouraged with what God is doing in a far off place.

Want to visit? The time is short. We plan to start furlough in late-December, but there is still time. Feel free to contact us about coming for a visit in the next months.
One of the fun aspects of being a missionary is traveling to visit other part so the country and ministry God's Word in different settings. At the end of April Caleb traveled to Iquitos to preach Friday-Sunday in the 50th anniversary services of La Iglesia Bautista Maranatha (Maranatha Baptist Church) in Iquitos. It was his second visit to the church and was a great weekend of preaching and fellowship with the church family.
The days were filled with preaching services Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, a special dinner (at 11:00 pm) on Saturday, lots of singing and specials, cake on Sunday night, a baptismal service (from another nearby church), counseling sessions, and fellowship with the pastor and his family.

Please continue to pray for our ministries, here in Trujillo and all around Peru and that God is faithful in providing funds and strength to accomplish His work.
It's easy to get lost in the daily routine. The hours and days pile up as we go about the tasks that God has given us. We love what we do and don't want to be anywhere else. Please continue to pray for God's work and for our faithfulness in His service.
Until all have heard,
Caleb, Ecko, Joseph, Jack, Isabel, and Isaac Stein
