An End to Another Fantastic Year

Adelante's Graduation Celebration

Adelante is excited to recognize our largest cohort of graduating seniors yet! Adelante's Graduation Celebration, presented by Brown-Forman, will celebrate our Achievers and their accomplishments and recognize our College and University Allies. We are incredibly proud to share our students’ stories as they pursue higher education and continue their journeys to become creative and educated world citizens.

Our 2018 College and University Allies:

As the spring semester comes to a close, we are looking for new students and College Access Mentors to join our College Corps Program in July! Orientation is Saturday, July 28th from 1:30-2:30 pm, and our July workshop will be from 3:00-4:30 pm! If you are interested in joining, or have any questions please reach out to Morgan Gerke at gerkemk@gmail.com.

April Programs

Adelante visited Centre College! We were so excited to take our students to the home of another Adelante College and University Ally. Achievers heard from the Admissions Office about what it means to be a student at Centre and what financial aid opportunities they have as Adelante students. They had the opportunity to speak with students and faculty on a panel during lunch and then went on campus tours lead by student leaders at Centre!

We were thrilled this month to have some of our alumni come back to talk to current Adelante students about their college experiences and answer any questions. Our students had a great time picking the brains of the alumni who came before them. After a panel, small group discussions, and pizza, Adelante kicked off our spring lock-in watching CoCo and going to Sky Zone's GLOW night. The night was full of games and laughter. It was a blast to say the least.

Who are our volunteers? Our volunteers include: presenters, mentors, interns, and tutors.

Presenters are community leaders from diverse professions who share their expertise during a single 3-hour workshop.
Mentors provide weekly support, guiding one or more students over time.
Interns provide 80+ hours during a semester and may support several Adelante programs
After School Tutors include teachers, college students, and high school students who work with a single student every week for a semester or longer.
