Celebrate 350 Years of NC Heritage and All Things Potato!

During the month of May, Elizabeth City will be celebrating northeastern North Carolina’s rich heritage. On May 11-12, Museum of the Albemarle will be displaying the 350 Years of the Albemarle Region exhibit, which features the rarely seen 1663 Carolina Charter. Then, the N.C. Potato Festival, more than 75 years-old, will provide a bushel-full of fun, May 18 – 20.

Don’t miss out on seeing the Carolina Charter of 1663, which allowed the Albemarle region to come into existence, and other rare documents from the North Carolina’s Proprietary Period (1663 – 1729) displayed at Museum of the Albemarle on May 11-12. Enjoy family-friendly activities showcasing our region's history during these days.

Besides warm weather and cool breezes off the Pasquotank River, one of the best things about May is celebrating all things potato with the N.C. Potato Festival! Dig in to northeastern North Carolina’s largest and one of the oldest festivals during May 18 - 20.
