LOVE A BIT OF DRAMA?

The Robin Hood Theatre is a small public theatre situated at Averham, just outside Newark on Trent. It was built in 1914 and became a public theatre in 1961.

Seating just 150, the theatre has built a reputation for producing professional, high standard entertainment and 90% of tickets for every performance are always sold. This year’s performances include ‘A Bunch of Amateurs’, ‘Oh What a Lovely War’ and ‘Crown Matrimonial’. For a full list of performances and ticket availability, visit www.robinhoodtheatre.co.uk

The venue has undergone extensive refurbishment with a large bar, foyer and exhibition area in addition to the auditorium. For those businesses that are looking for something a bit different, the theatre offers a range of opportunities – from sponsorship of a performance to a great location for a seminar, team or corporate meeting.

IT'S OUR HOSPITAL
Anthony Rosevear, Assistant Chief Operating Officer of Sherwood Hospitals, gave a positive and upbeat presentation about Newark Hospital.

Passionate about the hospital, Mr Rosevear gave some interesting facts and figures:
  • The hospital has 300 staff and 200 volunteers.
  • It sees 500 urgent care cases and 3000 outpatients a month.
  • In recent performance figures the hospital achieved results from 98% to 100% across the board.
  • It has been voted the 11th best hospital nationally for staff engagement.
  • 90% of staff would recommend Newark Hospital as place to receive care.
  • The hospital is offering more and more services that allow local people to access the treatments locally, rather than having to travel further away.
  • A £1million has been invested in the electrical infrastructure and theatre air handling systems at the hospital.
  • Services are being developed that will see Newark Hospital become the preferred choice for specialist treatments including breast reconstruction following cancer, orthopedic procedures, gynecological services, and hand and wrist surgery.

Mr Rosevear shared a video with the Business Club that had been made with the help of staff, demonstrating the passion and commitment of everyone involved in making it our hospital.
