Teton Machine Unveils New Facility!
On Wednesday, June 13 Teton Machine Company cut the ribbon on a gorgeous new production facility next door to the old plant in Payette, Idaho.  The old Teton facility was about 14,000 sq ft with 10,000 of manufacturing space.  The new facility is 30,000 sq ft with 25,000 of manufacturing space. The new facility is ITAR registered thanks to the addition of video surveillance and other security improvements.  Teton President & GM, Andy Oyervides, said it was great working with Payette City, Payette County, the Idaho Dept of Commerce, and Kit Kamo of Snake River Economic Development in bringing the project to fruition.  Columbia Bank partnered with SBA via Capital Matrix to finance the project and made the process very smooth. Andy said he would highly recommend the plant builder, ASC Construction out of Caldwell, Idaho.

TechHelp OE Team Completes Successful Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Series in Nampa & Idaho Falls
TechHelp’s Operational Excellence (OE) Team completed successful Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (LSSGB) Series in Idaho Falls on May 22 and in Nampa on June 14. The OE Team of Dave O’ConnellGene Hamacher, and Gregg Lynde provided 32 hours of classroom training that focused on the principles of Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma Green Belt using the DMAIC process of Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control. Lean Six Sigma is a well-known approach for achieving operational excellence that does more than simply improve production processes. LSS combines the process improvement benefits of Lean with the statistical process control (SPC) benefits of Six Sigma. It takes advantage of the “value-added” focus of Lean while maintaining the statistical rigors of Six Sigma.

SWI-MA Quarterly Meeting/Tour Draws a Crowd to Boise State
The Southwest Idaho Manufacturers' Alliance hosted its Quarterly Meeting and Tour at Boise State on May 4. The event featured presentations by Gregg Lynde of TechHelp’s Operational Excellence Team, Ryan Gray, President of SGW Designworks, and David Estrada of the Micron School of Materials Science and Engineering at Boise State.

Following the presentations, TechHelp Executive Director, Steve Hatten, who founded the New Product Development Lab at Boise State, described how the Lab and its partners help Idaho inventors turn ideas into products and how Boise State engineering students are engaging with manufacturers. Steve’s talk was followed by a tour of the NPD Lab where NPD Specialist, Blaise Lawless (left), was forced to discipline a Luvabella Interactive Doll that interrupted his presentation.
