I am excited to share that all eight of our qualifying high schools earned gold medals from the U.S. News and World Report 2018 Best High Schools list. Our newest schools to qualify, YES Prep Brays Oaks and West, earned gold the first year they were eligible. With over 20,500 public high schools in 50 states and the District of Columbia considered, only the top 500 schools with the highest college readiness scores received the gold medal distinction. That's just 2.4% of all schools assessed!
Additionally, two of our eligible campuses are ranked in the top 100 in the nation and all eight of our campuses are on the state's Top 50 list. The Houston Chronicle even touted that "Houston ISD magnet schools and YES Prep charter schools dominated the 2018 U.S. News & World Report rankings in the greater Houston area, accounting for 13 of the metro's 17 campuses listed among the 50 best high schools in Texas."
